Hamas is anticipated to release Israeli hostages in exchange for additional Palestinian prisoners during the second day of the paused fire in Gaza. Previously, Hamas released 10% of the 240 hostages it had been holding. This development comes amidst the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine which has seen numerous citizens being held as hostages.
As part of providing updated information on this critical issue, Fox News updates featured footage released by the Israeli government last weekend, showing hostages arriving in Israel shortly after being released by Hamas. According to Fox News, the video captures the return of the first 13 hostages to Israel. The footage primarily depicts a group of adults leaving a vehicle, including some elderly individuals and one person in a wheelchair. None of the 13 hostages were reported to be American.
In addition to this initial coverage, The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released footage of vehicles transporting hostages kidnapped by the Hamas terrorist group, as reported in a Fox News update. Hamas agreed to release 13 Israeli citizens and seven non-Israeli citizens last Saturday night, including women and children.
Besides military entities offering insight into these developments, In a Fox News update, Donald Trump expressed his own remarks on the event, sharing his opinion on America's leadership, similar to Congressman Murphy's. Trump expressed shock that no U.S. citizens have been recently released by Hamas. The release of hostages is occurring due to an agreement between Israel and Hamas for a four-day pause in the conflict.
