Stokes County Health Department issued the following announcement on July 6.
Proper seat belt fit typically does not occur until children are between 9 and 12 years old. Seat belt fit can vary by vehicle.
So, check the fit in all vehicles you drive to make sure the child no longer needs to use a booster seat.
Your child might need a booster seat in one vehicle but not in another.
Best practice: Keep children properly buckled in the back seat until they are at least 13 years old.
DYK: Airbags are designed to protect adults and can be dangerous to young children.
