Three of District's Wrestlers Have Won Individual NCHSAA 2A State Championships | ROCKINGHAM COUNTY SCHOOLS: ( rock.k12.nc.us)

Rockingham County Schools issued the following announcement on Feb. 19.

RCS had a great day today on the wrestling mat in the opening round of the NCHSAA 2A State Wrestling Championships at the Greensboro Coliseum. Wrestlers from McMichael, Morehead, and Reidsville all advanced today to the state quarterfinal round.

2A 106 pounds 

Elijah Horton (Morehead, 39-2) won by fall over Stone Martin (West Stanly, 40-11) (Fall 4:29)

2A 120 pounds 

Jared Thomas (Morehead, 31-5) won by fall over Christian Wylie (Maiden, 25-11) (Fall 1:29)

2A 126 pounds 

Nathan Howard (Morehead, 39-9) won by decision over Trey Story (Bandys, 41-11) (Dec 4-0)

Rayshun James (Reidsville, 34-2) won by fall over Michael Fischer (East Surry, 25-13) (Fall 1:09)

2A 132 pounds

Tyler Moore (Morehead, 22-5) won by fall over Bladen Davis (South Lenoir, 29-16) (Fall 2:28)

2A 145 pounds 

Ephram Biggs (Morehead, 12-5) won by tech fall over Jack Casey (Lincoln Charter, 28-13) (TF-1.5 6:00 (21-6))

2A 152 pounds 

Cole Prichard (Morehead, 43-2) won by fall over Jackson Stegall (Holmes, 25-14) (Fall 3:15)

Edward Robles (McMichael, 26-10) won by decision over Jahiem Gibson (Pasquotank County, 30-11) (Dec 8-6)

2A 195 pounds 

Xavier Roberts (Morehead, 37-7) won by decision over Preston Campfield (Chase, 35-10) (Dec 4-3)

2A 285 pounds

Nhycer Kelly (Reidsville, 7-2) won by forfeit over Davante Barrington (Northeastern, 33-10) (For.)
