City of Winston-Salem issued the following announcement on Sept. 19.
Virtual M/WBE Compliance Seminar Being Offered
The city’s Office of Business Inclusion & Advancement is holding a virtual seminar Sept. 29 to help businesses understand the guidelines for soliciting participation by minority and women-owned businesses when responding to the city’s requests for proposals and requests for qualifications.
The seminar will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29. The registration deadline is Sept. 28. A link to register is posted at CityofWS.org/MWBE.
Topics will include M/WBE policies, the process for awarding contacts for professional, general and other services, bidding opportunities, using the city’s vendor listing and getting state certification as a Historically Underutilized Business.
The seminar is free and recommended for both general businesses that need to know more about the M/WBE program and for minority or women-owned businesses that want to participate in the M/WBE program.
