Village of Tobaccoville issued the following announcement on Oct. 22.
Tobaccoville voters will have the opportunity to elect their representatives for Mayor and Village Council this fall on November 2nd. Since this is a municipal election year and no other municipalities are sharing precincts with Tobaccoville at the Macedonia Precinct, the Forsyth County Board of Elections has combined the Macedonia precinct with the Alice Watts Tuttle Community Center precinct. The voters from both these precincts will vote at the Alice Watts Tuttle Community Center. The Northwest Middle School Precinct will be open. The polls will be open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. This year the office of Mayor and two 4 year Council seats will be filled.
During the filing period, Myron W. Marion filed for the office of Mayor. Lori Shore-Smith and Boyce Shore have filed for the 4 year seats on Village Council. We ask that you come out November 2nd to support your candidates for Mayor and Village Council. Your vote is important and appreciated.
After the election and when the canvas is complete, the newly elected officials will be sworn in and begin serving their terms at the Council meeting on December 2nd
