Richmond County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Sep 10.
Successful economic development planning in smaller communities requires developing a regional focus to bring together the strengths of the entrepreneurial community to create an ecosystem that can compete with more densely populated areas. Drawing on our research and programs at the IC2 Institute, Dr. Markman will discuss several strategies used to plan regionally to create partnerships between rural business, government, and education, to address financing problems, to promote workforce development, and to make use of local strengths. A key element of this strategy is to create bridgeable gaps in which there are clear actionable strategies that will make steady progress toward key outcomes.
Sept. 14.
