The Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC) said that non-profit and for-profit organizations can apply for approximately $1 million in Federal HOME Program grants.

Project proposals can be for any properties within Stokes county, as well as Davie, Surry, and Yadkin counties, information on the Surry County website said. Funds can be used for projects that include creating new housing units, renovating existing complexes, or converting buildings into residential properties. Proposals may be submitted online, and the deadline for submissions is on Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 11:59 p.m.

Those considering applying must meet all federal regulations and be familiar with HOME program’s requirements before submitting their proposal, according to the website. Decisions regarding awards and funding amounts are expected to be finalized in late January.

The available funds are currently approximate and may be adjusted depending on the number of applications received. For more information on the submission process or further questions regarding eligibility and the application, contact Ashley Pendley or Rebecca Ashby at 336-904-0300.
