FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital is considered a Top 10 health care provider in North Carolina based on a new study from U.S. News and World Report.
The publication that is known for its ranking reports, placed the hospital in the ninth position for its Best Hospital list, a press release from the Richmond County Chamber of Commerce said on July 28, with the facility receiving high marks in several areas.
"We are thrilled to receive this recognition once again from U.S. News,” FirstHealth CEO Mickey Foster said in the chamber's press release. “This is a testament to the expertise and commitment of our physicians, nurses and staff who work each day to provide exceptional care to our patients.
The methodology for the ranking includes risk-adjusted survival, readmission rates, patient experience and safety, volume and quality of nursing, according to the chamber's press release. The ranking includes data for both the Richmond and Hoke campuses.
Foster said he took the areas in which the hospital received high marks as especially meaningful.
“Throughout the FirstHealth system and at all of our locations, we are committed to our core purpose — to care for people,” Foster was quoted as saying in the release. “We strive for high-quality care each day and remain committed to caring for the whole person as we work with them to improve their quality of life.”
