RiverStreet Networks partnered with several businesses to expand free internet access to public areas throughout North Carolina.
“This partnership illustrates how much they care about their community and its well-being,” RiverStreet Networks told The Stokes News in April. “Our network and communications services are crucial to the people we serve in not only keeping them informed but allowing the social distancing required to slow down the spread of the virus through the population.”
According to the Stokes News article, students needing to complete coursework and employees working remotely will be able to travel to the WiFi hotspot locations and use the internet without having to leave their vehicles.
Stokes County schools with WiFi hotspots are Nancy Reynolds Elementary School, Pine Hall Elementary School, Piney Grove Middle School, Sandy Ridge Elementary School, South Stokes High School and West Stokes High School. The Reagan Administrative Building and RiverStreet Networks Retail Office are also Wi-Fi hotspots.
