Stokes County Schools issued the following announcement on Feb. 15.

The National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) declared Feb. 15 “National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day.”
Stokes County Schools has a wonderful relationship with the Stokes County Sheriff and the Police Chief in King.  
We are grateful that the County Commissioners and King City Counsel understand the importance of the School Resource Officer (SRO) program and fully fund an SRO in each school each day!
