CITY OF KING POLICE DEPARTMENT: Donates Book Bags and School Supplies

0Comments

City of King issued the following announcement on Aug. 15.

King Police Department, along with Detective Creed and Detective Roddy, has donated 20 book bags filled with school supplies to the Stokes Family YMCA in support of the Y’s Bright Beginnings Program.

YMCA Bright Beginnings takes children in need back-to-school shopping with community volunteers. We provide a gift card for volunteers to shop (clothes, shoes and school supplies) with a child one-on-one. Each year, the Y works with Stokes County Schools to identify elementary students from across the County who are most in need.

Thanks to generous donations from our communities, we will serve 100 Stokes County Elementary Students on Saturday August 6th from 8:00AM-2:00PM.  We need 125 volunteers for this event to be successful.  Thank you in advance for your time and energy to help make this a reality for these students.
