City of King issued the following announcement on Nov. 27.

Join us each month as we read and discuss interesting, thought-provoking books!

DETAILS:

We’ll meet at 4:30 pm on the 1st Wednesday of each month in the Community Building Parlor at Rec Acres (107 White Rd). This will be the door on the far left if you are looking at the front of the building.

We’ll chat for a while about the book, with discussion facilitated by Rachel Smith of Local Healing: Counseling and Wellness and enjoy fellowship, fun, and frank conversations! Light refreshments will be provided.

After the discussion, Rachel will share a Mental Health Minute related to each month’s book!

HOW DO I SIGN UP?

The book club is FREE to participate! Just email Parks and Recreation Director, Olivia Calloway (ocalloway@ci.king.nc.us), and you’ll be emailed a link to join!

We will be using the Bookclubz app, which enables us to schedule meetings, share book info, poll for new book choices, and connect with each other! Please download the app so you can participate in the fun!

Once you have joined the club through the Bookclubz app, grab yourself a copy and get to reading! We will discuss the whole book each month, so it will be best to have read the whole thing prior to the meeting.

WHERE DO I GET THE BOOK??

The King Public Library has several copies of the book available for rental.
