China and Russias partnership threatening the U.S national security

During the Belt and Road summit last week, China’s strong alliance with Russia became evident, causing concern for the United States. Senator Thom Tillis expressed his worries, stating, “China directly threatens our national security, and its partnership with Russia should be sounding the alarm to this administration. We need to do everything we can to counter threats posed by the Chinese Communist Party and to protect our national interests.”

The partnership between China and Russia has raised serious concerns about U.S. national security. According to NewsWeek, Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that if the U.S. were to engage in a war with Russia and China simultaneously, it would be a completely different scenario than any conflict in the Eastern Hemisphere. Putin referred to Russia’s war in Ukraine as a “special military operation,” emphasizing the unique challenges the U.S. would face.

China has long been a significant cyber threat to U.S. national security. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) states that China is currently the most active and persistent cyber espionage threat to both government and private-sector networks. Their goal is to increase the threat they pose to U.S. operations, and CISA emphasizes the urgent need for organizations to take action to protect themselves.

The relationship between China and Russia has been steadily strengthening over the past few decades, with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine further solidifying their alliance. Foreign Policy reports that the two countries have made a clear commitment to supporting each other’s interests. While their relationship dates back to the Cold War era, recent developments such as the U.S. military’s presence and the Taiwan situation have brought China and Russia closer together on their own side.

The growing partnership between China and Russia poses a significant challenge to U.S. national security. It is crucial for the U.S. to recognize and address this threat in order to safeguard its interests and protect its national security.
